A seasonal entry of Store Cattle proved good to sell with improved optimism in the beef industry. All classes wanted. The days’ top price of £1215 was paid for a Charolais Heifer from Messrs Graham, Lynedraw, Ireby. Steers topped at £1175 for a Limousin from Messrs Noble, Gibbtarn, Beckermet.
A handful of Bulls forward sold to £1005 for a Limousin from RA Rawling, Overcroft, Greysouthen.

Breeding Sheep
A good entry for the time of year of 550 outfits of Ewes with Lambs at foot attracted another bustling ringside of buyers ensuring a flying trade throughout. The days top price of £132 per life was paid twice; both times for pure Texel Ewes with single Beltex Lambs at foot from Woodhow Farm, Wasdale. Again the trade of the day would be the Herdwick Ewes which topped at £52 per life for Herdwick Ewes with Single lambs from P Deady, Troutal Farm, Broughton in Furness.
