Mitchells saleroom hereby gives notice that, due to government restrictions aimed at limiting the spread of coronavirus and to protect the safety of our customers and staff, the saleroom is now closed and future sales postponed until further notice. This includes weekly household sales and the Country Sporting Sale scheduled for 23rd & 24th April. The Country Sporting Sale catalogue is finished and all photographs taken so it will simply be a matter of fixing a new date once we emerge from the current crisis.
Items from the 18th 19th and 20th March Antiques & Fine Art Sale that have not yet been collected will be looked after at no cost until restrictions are lifted. Anyone wishing to pay an invoice can do so by bank transfer using the details that accompanied the invoice. We will not be in the office to take payment over the telephone.
For those of you that have requested postage and packing we have recorded this and will endeavour to have your items sent as soon as we are allowed to do so. Clearly there will be other requests for our postal service and we will only be able to deal with these when restrictions have been lifted.
Sale proceeds from the Antiques & Fine Art Sale will be made in the usual way once we have received payment. This would not have been for three weeks or so in any event and hopefully this will not be delayed.
Mitchells thank you for your understanding and hope that you keep safe and healthy.
We are living in unprecedented times and understandably we are all concerned for our families, friends and colleagues. I wanted to reassure you that the board of Mitchells are doing everything we can to ensure the wellbeing of our people and our business. This situation is likely to last a longer time than we would hope for; the Board is meeting regularly to discuss how we best continue serving our customers to the extent possible whilst complying with the various restrictions and ensuring the safety and health of our people. If you have any ideas as to what we should be doing please be in touch by email.
Currently our staff are in various situations, some working on site, some working from home, some ‘isolating’ because of possible symptoms or vulnerable health issues and some ‘furloughed’ : a new term to most of us!
The board is very proud of the professionalism, dedication and resourcefulness of everyone within the organisation and we are sure that
Things are changing on a daily basis and it is a problem keeping in touch with everyone, we are putting this message out on social media, emails etc. and if you are aware of anyone who might not have received it please let us know.
Once again, thank you for your unwavering support, please follow advice, keep safe and keep in touch.
