Annual Sale of Bluefaced Leicester rams & females

On Monday 21^st September 2020 Mitchells held their annual Bluefaced Leicester show & sale.  The show was kindly sponsored by Dodd & Co Accountants and ably judged by Mr Geoff Walker, Beechcroft. After some deliberation he selected a Ram lamb from RW&JH Emmott, Wythop Hall as his Champion. Reserve honours went to the Shearling Ram from W&PA Walton, Low Kinmont.

Following on from Fridays Mule gimmer lamb sale trade was brisk with Shearling Rams in high demand leading to an unrivalled 98% clearance rate of Shearlings. The days top price of £800 was paid for a Ram Lamb from S Allan & Sons, Greenhow Farm, Dufton.

Ram Lamb – 800, 550 Greenhow, 500, 320 Paddock Farm, 500 Gillcumber Edge.

Ram Shearling – 750(2) Peterhouse, 750 Paddock Farm, 750, 720 Baggra Yeat, 750, 700 Low Kinmont, 700, 650 Shatton Lodge, 650 Beck Grange.

Gimmer Shearling – 200, 150 Gillcumber Edge.

Gimmer Lamb – 150, 140 Tortolocate.
