Store cattle

A summer show and a scintillating trade delighting vendors. Top of £1275 for an Angus steer from P Braithwaite, Ehenside Farm, Beckermet. Heifers sold to £1135 for a British Blue from Messrs Greening Ltd, Waverbank, Wigton.

Store Sheep

A wonderful entry of store lambs was presented in good order to a full ringside of buyers. Trade was electric with all classes seeing a huge lift on the year producing an overall sale average of £82.55 per head (+£13.67 on the year).  

The judging of the show was in the capable hands of Mr Joseph Hetherington, Blue Dial who we thank for his time and expertise. After carrying out a thorough job, the championship rosette was awarded to the First prize pen of Continental lambs from A&M Roberts, Riggingill, Greysouthen. This tremendous pen of Beltex gimmers later sold for the days top price of £126.

The next sale of Store lambs is the August Show and Sale on Friday 20th August. Vendors can enter with confidence with strong demand present. Entries to the office on 01900 822016.
