Annual Sale of Continental Gimmers and Lakeland Store Lambs Saturday 18th September 2021

The Great Annual Lakeland sale of 5,035 Store Lambs and Continental X Gimmer lambs was held on Saturday 18th September. Following on from the Mule gimmer lambs the previous day, the Continental and Suffolk ewe lambs sold to a fabulous trade with an abundance of customers around the ring. Top of £142 was paid for a Black Texel gimmer lamb from Mosser Mains Farm, Mosser; the proceeds of this lamb being kindly donated to Alzheimer’s Society. TexelXMule gimmer lambs from A Fearon, Kirkland House sold to £138.   

Store lambs sold to a huge ringside of both local and travelled buyers ensuring one of the dearest trades of the season. Beltex lambs from WH&F Wood, Well Head sold to £124.

Superb annual consignments of Mule Wethers topped at £81 for a pen of 72 from NW Graham & Son, Tortolcate and £81 for a pen of 54 from Messrs JW Hartley, Priorscales.

TexelXHerdwick lambs came forward in large numbers topping at £80 for a pen from Mrs D Richardson, Fell Barrow and also from JC Rothery, Far Bank Farm.
