On Monday 20TH September 2020 Mitchells held their annual Bluefaced Leicester show & sale. A catalogued entry of 74 Bluefaced Leicesters met a spirited trade following on from the delightful Mule Gimmer lamb trade witnessed the previous Friday.
The show was kindly sponsored by Dodd & Co Accountants with judging in the capable hands of Mr Andrew Fell, Mosedale. Championship honours were awarded to W&PA Walton & Son, Low Kinmont, Corney with a Shearling Ram which later sold for £1300 purchased by JA&NR Birkett.
The days top price of £1400 was achieved for the Reserve Champion, a Ram lamb from JH Critchlow, Paddock Farm, Ashbourne purchased by AG&KF Nicholson.
Ram Lamb – 1400, 1200 Paddock Farm, 600 Low Kinmont, 500 Chapel House, 500 Lingfield Bungalow.
Ram Shearling – 1300, 1100, 1000(2) Low Kinmont, 1100 Shatton Lodge, 700 Peter House, 600(2) Paddock Farm, 550 Hilltop.
Aged Ram- 550 Manor Farm.
