Store Cattle
A good entry of store cattle for the time of year and a phenomenal trade being the dearest yet witnessed. The top price of £1765 was paid for a Limousin Steer from BW Noble, Gibbtarn, Beckermet. British Blue steers to £1735 again from BW Noble, Gibb Tarn. Heifers sold to £1605 for a pair of Limousins from JC Farries & Son, Stainburn Hall, Workington.
Yearling stores looked the trade of the day topping at £1535 for a Limousin steer from Messrs Richardson, Low Garth, Bewaldeth.

Stirks in keen demand here at Cockermouth and more can be well sold to the keen ringside. Top of £710 for a British Blue Bull from N Napier, Croftside, Coulderton.

Breeding Sheep
All classes keenly bid for topping at £127 per life for Mule hoggs with Texel lambs at foot from JH&JE Taylor, The Harras, Ainstable. Ewes with lambs to £122 per life from Messrs Pinguey, High House, Wigton. Fell sheep to £52 a life for Herdwick ewes from R Lamb, Seaview, St. Bees.
