On Wednesday 24th May 2023 Mitchells Livestock Centre Cockermouth. Held their weekly sale of primestock. Comprising of 49 Cast Cows and Bulls, 1146 prime sheep, including 151 Spring Lambs, 582 Prime hoggs and 413 cast ewes and rams.
Prime cattle met a strong demand from the usual ring of buyers. The resulting trade maintained the high rates of recent sales. More could have been sold to meet buying demand.
A Charolais Bull topped the ring weighing in at 218ppk selling for £2687.94 sold by EW&R Fawkes, Hayborough.
