On Wednesday 31st May 2023, Mitchells Livestock Centre, Cockermouth held their weekly sale of primestock comprising of 40 cast cows and 10 prime cattle, 1152 prime sheep consisting of 275 spring lambs, 474 prime hoggs and 403 cast ewes and rams.
Prime Cattle topped at 298p for a Charolais Bull from P&PI Walker, Beechcroft, Mockerkin. Top gross was £2100.40 for another Charolais Bull from EW&R Fawkes, Hayborough, Dearham.

Top gross of the day £2226.40 for an Aberdeen Angus cast bull from Messrs Mansergh, Sneckyeat, Brandlingill.
