Prime Sheep
A pleasing show of prime lambs forward sold to a much better trade than expected being easily in front of markets earlier in the week with most lambs matching last weeks rates and some looking dearer on the week. Top of £193 for a pair of Texel lambs from SJ Wilson, Southerfield, House, Abbeytown purchased by Wilson Willis Butchers, High Street, Cleator Moor. Others to £186 again from SJ Wilson, Southerfield House this time purchased by Tony Harrison, Butcher, Main Street, Cockermouth.
A good entry of Mule lambs forward sold to £108 from J&C Stobart, Howbeck Lodge, Hesket New Market or 255p from AG&KF Nicholson, Swinside End, Lorton.
Light lambs good to sell with a pen weighing 31kg achieving £80 from G&AE Marrs, Cathow, Kinniside.
