Day one of our two-day breeding sheep sales set of with our opening breeding ram sale kindly sponsored by Robinson + Co and Macmin.

The pre-sale show was professionally judged by Mr James Latimer, Causeyview.

Seven outstanding classes of stock led to the championship rosette being handed to the first prize texel shearling ram from Ms G Wilkinson, Arkleby House, this tup went on to joint the Wha House flock for £700. Reserve honours went to Ms Wales, Thackwood with a beltex x texel which later the hammer fell at £700.

Fitting to see our local auction mart being well supported with a huge ringside of buyers. Bidding was selective with emphasis being placed on buyers wanting strong, powerful good skinned rams. A 76% clearance with a mart average of £492.16.
