Bluefaced Leicester Rams

 

A useful entry of Bluefaced Leicester Rams sold to keen demand and a very satisfying trade. The Show was kindly sponsored by David Allen Accountants and ably judged by Paul Sowerby who awarded the Championship to the Shearling Ram from W&PA Walton, Low Kinmont, Corney which later realised £900. A ram lamb from JH Critchlow, Park Farm, Dormston also sold to £900.

Swaledale Rams

 

The Swaledale Rams were professionally judged by Mr Jack Wills who forward a large show of tups put before him. Again sponsored by David Allen Accountants; Championship honours went to the Aged Ram from JA Ritson, Baggra Yeat, Uldale which later realised the days top price of £600.

Swaledale Females

 

The Swaledale females were judged by the duo of Jack Wills and Paul Sowerby, and yet again kindly sponsored by David Allen Accountants. After some deliberation, the Willy Gill trophy was awarded to EJ&RJ Wear, Howe Green, Hartsop for their pen of 2crop ewes which later sold for the days top price of £210. Reserve honours went to Messrs Folder, Wescoe Farm, Threlkeld which sold for £165.

 

Shearlings topped at £142 for the 1st prize pen from A Hartley Ltd, Turner Hall, Seathwaite.
