On 22nd November 2023 Mitchells Livestock Centre, Cockermouth held their weekly sale of primestock comprising of 58 cast cows and bulls and 10 prime bulls and prime steers, 2130 prime sheep including 1898 prime lambs and 235 cast ewes and rams.

Cast cow trade remains at a wonderful level for the time of year with 6 active buyers present. Leading price per kilo was a shapey Limousin from the Emmott family at 240ppk. Leading the top price per head was the Fawkes family of Hayborough with a well fed British Blue cow realising £1617.98.
