On Wednesday 29th November at Mitchells Livestock Centre, Cockermouth held their weekly sale of primestock comprising of 73 cast cows and 8 prime cattle, 1723 prime sheep including 1318 prime lambs and 405 cast ewes and rams.
Prime cattle topped at 248p for a Limousin X Friesian from WE&DE Litt, Greengill, Gilcrux. Black and whites to 235p for a British Friesian Bull again from WE&DE Litt.

Others to £194 for a Texel from G Gate, Hollins, Eaglesfield again purchased by Tony Harrison, Butcher, Cockermouth.
Top per kilo was 377.3p for Beltex lambs from GH&JE Steel, The Laurels, Wigton. Texels to 355.8p from Messrs Fraser, High Flatts, Gilcrux.
Mule lambs sold to £132 from JE&A Wilson, Far End, Bootle.
Lightweight lambs good to sell with 36kg Texel crosses selling to £105 from DJ Porter, Easthwaite, Wasdale.
A large entry of fell lambs coming out topping at £107 or 239.7ppk for Herdwicks from P&J Bland, Knott Houses, Grasmere.
