Mitchells Livestock Auction Mart held the Annual Show and Sale of Swaledale Rams. The sale was kindly sponsored by Mitchells Auction Mart with judging in the capable hands of Mr Graeme Whitfield. After some deliberation the Lawson Family Trophy for the Champion Swaledale Tup was awarded to the Aged Ram from Messrs JJ Hope, Branthwaite, Caldbeck. Reserve honours went to Messrs Emmott, Wythop Hall, Cockermouth.
A full ringside of buyers ensured that a solid trade prevailed ensuring a 93% clearance rate. The top price of £750 was paid for an aged Ram from IR&OM Wilson, High Beckside, Mungrisedale purchased by S Robinson, Bridge End.
