On Wednesday 21st February, Mitchells Livestock Centre, Cockermouth held their weekly sale of primestock with 34 Cattle comprising of 34 Prime Cattle and Cast Cows; 1229 sheep including 901 Prime Hoggs and 328 Cast Ewes and Rams.
A smaller show of Cast Cows sold to a top price of 275 pence or £1892 for a young Limousin Cow from J Hodgson, Woodend, Egremont purchased by Mr George Chapman. Prime Bulls sold to £2032.50 from Messrs Teasdale, Lowside, Troutbeck.
