On Wednesday 24th July, Mitchells Livestock Centre, Cockermouth, held their weekly sale of primestock with 22 Cattle comprising of 4 Prime Cattle and 18 cast cows and bulls; sheep including 556 prime lambs and 365 cast ewes and rams.
Cow numbers were less on the week but still a strong trade following on from last week. Cow numbers wanted for next week to fullfill buyers orders.

Lamb numbers were stronger on the week, with a national trade throughout the ring. Top price of the day was a tremendous Texel lamb from weekly supporter J&D Hodgson, Parsonage Farm. The Hodgson Family also had an outstanding Texel lamb which took top price per kilo on the day selling for 410.20ppk.

A larger show of ewes forward this week selling to a larger ringside of buyers, maintaining last weeks trade.
Top price of the day was whopper of a Texel from KA&R Campbell, Carrow Farm selling for £258.00, closely behind was another Texel at £220.00.
