The sale of 420 ewes sold to a full ring side of buyers with all types bid for with a topping the sale with a Texel ewe £202 from W&E Gate, Rook Farm with other pens of Texel to £199 from J Shepherd, Crossfield Farm. Best pens of continental ewes full of meat were regular selling £150-£180. A pen of 10 Lleyn ewes from D&MA Wilson, Lamplugh Hall sold to £163. Mule ewes seen the top £135 from JA Ritson, Baggra Yeat with best end ewes selling £110-£120. Hillbred ewes seen a top of a pen of Cheviot from DJ Porter, Easthwaite Farm selling at £153. Swaledale ewes sold to £94 for a pen of 12 from JA Ritson, Baggra Yeat.

1100 Lambs forward as seen nationally trade less on the week, with a pleasing average of 276ppk. The sale topped at £180 twice from W&E Gate, Rook Farm and G Gate, Hollins both bought by Tony Harrison Butchers, Cockermouth. With other pens of texel selling to £179 Messrs Fraser, High Flatts. Best bred lambs sold 346ppk for Beltex from W&E Gate with others selling to 330ppk from I Powley Greenmarsh. Light bred lambs sold to the trade of the day with these regular being 280ppk-290ppk. More mule lambs on offer today with cheviot mules selling £132 from JR Weir, Elva Plain with Mules selling £124 from MW Hewitson, Shatton Lodge.
