Friday 23rd May Mitchells Auction Co Ltd held their fortnightly sale of Store, Breeding & Feeding Cattle also Monthly Sale of Calves & Stirks. With a catalogued entry of 50 Calves & Stirks and 144 Store Cattle.
Calves sold to a staggering average of £705.64.
Stronger cattle sold well PM Barnes, Black Wood sold Angus Heifers to average £2380.00, JC Farries & Son Stainburn Hall sold to an average £2113.33. The trade stayed strong throughout the whole day. Yearling cattle sold to a flying trade with Ms Sharp, Holmecroft selling 6 to average £1888.33, R Faulkner & Son, Water Bleam Farm sold 6 to average £1780.00.
