NOTE - Thanks to Graham Greener of WW Greener Shotguns for the following information - We regret we do not have the name of the original owner of this gun or the original production specification however what we do know is that this gun was made in 1898. It employs JV Needhams Patent ejector of 1874 which was the world's first ejector for sporting shotguns. WW Greener saw this ejectors potential so bought JV Needhams business in that year also obtaining the rights to build this type of ejector which is housed in the real barrel lump. WW Greener developed this ejector further to produce his self-acting ejector patented in 1881 by moving the ejectors to the front barrel lump it provided better leverage for cocking and ejecting and for many years this was a far more reliable ejector. Some 6000 were made from 1881 to 1890 although production of self-acting ejector shotguns continued until 1914. However, WW Greener also made shotguns with the original Needham ejector up to the outbreak of The Great War for clients who wanted them. Serial No. 46817. SHOTGUN LICENCE REQUIRED
