A George III oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock by Ashton Tidswell, having a caddy top with moulded cornice and blind fretwork frieze in turn above a crossbanded glazed door flanked by simple turned columns and enclosing the silvered brass dial and eight-day movement by Ashton Tidswell with Roman numerals and subsidiary Arabic numerals to the chapter ring and with seconds dial and date aperture, in turn above the long trunk door inlaid with a star burst and with conforming base. Height 86 ins (see illustration).
