Beatrix Potter original letter and postcards, the letter to Mrs Mackereth, Sawrey Ground, Crosby, Maryport, Cumberland, dated August 2nd 1943, with original envelope dated 3rd August 1943. The letter to "My Dear Jenny" discussing "prisoned hands". Haymaking is also discussed as is thatching. The letter goes on to discuss the weather and Beatrix Potter's hens. The letter then mentions the health of certain individuals and the receipt for Mrs Mackereth's rent for the property Sawrey Ground, Crosby. The receipt for the rent is also enclosed. There are three postcards, one wishing Mrs Mackereth "Best wishes for Christmas and New Year" from Sawrey, one discusses the weather and mentions Cockermouth Show and one also mentions Cockermouth Show "the sheep are going there". The letter and postcards are sold with Peter Rabbit's Almanac for 1929 and one volume "The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck" (see illustration).

A Russian enamel Khodynka cup, dated 1896, also known as The Cup of Sorrows. Height 10.5 cm. NOTE - This was made for the Coronation of Tsar Nicholas II & Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna in 1896, bearing the ciphers of Nicholas and Alexandra with Romanov eagle on the opposing side, these beakers were distributed at their Coronation and it is reported that over 1000 people were trampled to death in a stampede for the mugs which were erroneously rumoured to contain a gold coin.
