On Wednesday 17th January 2024, Mitchells Livestock Centre, Cockermouth held their weekly sale of primestock with Cattle comprising of 62 Prime Cattle and Cast Cows; 1296 Sheep including 1150 Prime Lambs and 146 Cast Ewes and Rams.   Cast Cows were a wonderful trade with dairy types much sharper averaging 163ppk.  Beef bred cows sold to a strong trade with £2 a kilo easily obtained.   Leading the day was a cast Limousin bull from Lamplugh Hall which made £1846.28.   Cows were up to £1667...
