Market Report for Wednesday 14th August 2024   On Wednesday 14th August Mitchells Livestock Centre, Cockermouth, held their weekly sale of primestock with 35 Cattle comprising 7 Prime Cattle, 20 Cast Cows and 8 Bulls, 1115 sheep including 720  Prime Lambs and 395 cast ewes and rams.   Cattle continued to sell very well, maintaining the good prices of recent sales.   Top pence per kilo for cows was 216p per kg paid for a Limousin Cow shown by T Clemetson, Green Close, Bassenthwaite.  The ...

Market Report for Friday 2nd August 2024   OPENING SHOW AND SALE OF STORE LAMBS The opening show and sale of store lambs attracted a catalogue entry of 800. A quality entry of both strong short keep lambs and running lambs were presented to a crowded ring of buyers. All classes met a strong trade to an overall average of £107.16, up £26.39 on the year. STORE CATTLE   A nice entry of entry of cattle were presented to a good ring of both local and travelled buyers.
