WITHDRAWN - Carlo Bugatti (1856-1940), a rare pair of jardiniere stands, circa 1900, the square tops bordered with ebony and brass stringing above vellum panels set with inlaid bone, pewter and ebony roundels each with beaten copper centre and framed by inlaid star motifs, the legs wrapped in copper supported by a lower inlaid tier on square ebonised feet. Top width 25 cm, height 102 cm (see illustration).

A George III mahogany longcase clock circa 1800 by Joseph Craig of Maryport, the swans neck pediment above a pierced fretwork panel around an eagle and ball finial and with dentil cornice above a fluted frieze, with arched cushioned moulded door flanked by Corinthian columns with brass capitals, the trunk with similar dentil work and fluted band above a Gothic shaped door inlaid with boxwood and ebony stringing flanked by canted angles and with further inlaid decoration above a moulded base raised on ogee bracket feet, with eight day striking movement and 13" painted dial with subsidiary dates and seconds dials and with painted moon phase with calibrated scale. Height including finial 95.5" (239 cm). NOTE - Joseph Craig Clockmaker of Lancaster married Mary Watson of Lancaster. He was born in Cumberland circa 1760. He appears to have been working in Maryport towards the end of the 18th century and the early part of the 19th century. He died in 1845 (see illustration).
