TOMMY BAXTER SHOW & SALE OF STORE CATTLE   The Tommy Baxter Show & Sale of 1058 of Store Cattle was met by a massive crowd of both local and travelled buyers. Trade had no let up from the first beast into the ring to the last. The atmosphere here at Mitchells was buzzing all day long, with both buyers and sellers enjoying their day. On Wednesday 26th February, Mitchells Livestock Centre, Cockermouth, held their weekly sale of primestock with Cattle: sheep including prime lambs and cast ewes and rams.   A strong show of 32 Cattle were forward. Topping the sale ring was an Angus Bull from LM&C Whitaker, Scalderskew, weighting 1095kg selling for 251.5ppk totalling £2753.93. Following behind was a Limousin cow from R&S Purdham, Low Boonwood weighing 760kg selling for 281.5ppk totalling £2139.40. A good show of Dairy cows...

Market Report for Wednesday 19th February 2025   On Wednesday 19th February, Mitchells Livestock Centre, Cockermouth, held their weekly sale of primestock with 57 Cattle and 1816 sheep including 1425 prime hoggs and 391 cast ewes and rams.   A great show of 45 dairy/beef breed cull cows were forward. Top price was awarded to a limousin bull by JD&M Capstick Ltd, Fellside Farm and PE&M Capstick, Whicham Hall which weighted 1017kg - £2.47.50ppk - £2517.08. Next was a Blue cow from A Hartley...
