A show of mainly longer keep lambs finding a keen ringside of purchasers and another strong trade with the small lambs looking the dearest. The days’ top of £95 was paid for Texel Lambs from AJ Wood, Woodhall Brow who also sold others to £93 twice. Beltex Lambs to £91 for WW&D Boow, Corney Hall. On Monday 5th October Mitchells held the Annual Show and Sale of Swaledale Draft Ewes, Shearlings and Gimmer Lambs. The show was ably judged by Mr Robert Marrs, Manor Farm who commented on the strong show put before him. After some deliberation the Willy Gill Trophy and Champion rosette was awarded to GL Hutton, Setmabanning which later sold for the days top price of £220. The September Show and Sale of Store cattle was well supported by both vendors and purchasers alike producing a wonderful days trading.
