Mitchells Auction Company held The Annual “Brian Smith Memorial Show & Sale” with an entry of 458 Store Cattle. A wonderful quality entry of cattle was forward which was a credit to all consignors. There was a good ring of competitive buyers, and this resulted in a strong trade throughout the sale. Market Report for Wednesday 25th September 2024   On Wednesday 25th September, Mitchells Livestock Centre, Cockermouth, held their weekly sale of primestock with 49 Cattle: 1902 sheep including 1362 prime lambs and 540 cast ewes and rams.   Today we had a larger show of cattle forward. Store Lambs A nice quality entry of 500 store lambs met a steady trade being slightly cheaper on the previous sale although in line with the market trends. The sale was topped £130 for Texel lambs shown by B Adams, Lingla Bank, Frizington.
